New on ToyDirectory.com: Free Tools for Toy Makers, Buyers and Inventors

Market data, recalls, compliance steps, quotes, licensing, jobs, events and more, all in one place

ToyDirectory.com has added a set of free tools for people who make, buy, sell and invent toys. Each one sits on its own page, and most link to the official source behind them: the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) or the company or organizer itself. Here is what each tool does today and where to find it.

For market numbers

Toy Industry Data Hub: Official U.S. numbers for the toy business, updated monthly: retail sales at hobby, toy and game stores from the U.S. Census Bureau and the toy price index from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, each shown over the last 24 months. The latest figures on the page are $2,027 million in store sales for August 2026, up 23.1% from August 2025, and a toy price index up 6.6% from September 2025. The sales figure covers stores classified as hobby, toy and game stores, not all toy sales. You can download each series as a CSV file or embed a chart on your own site for free.

Toy Company Earnings Calendar: When the public toy companies report next, including Mattel, Funko, JAKKS Pacific, Spin Master and Bandai Namco Holdings. Every date comes from the company's own investor relations page or announcement, and when a company hasn't announced a date yet, the page says so. Each entry links to the company's investor relations page, and dated reports can be added to your calendar.

For safety and compliance

Toy and Children's Product Recall Tracker: This year's CPSC recalls of toys, juvenile products and other children's products in one list, newest first. You can filter by type, by hazard (such as battery and magnet ingestion, choking, or lead and chemicals) and by month. Each recall shows the firm, the number of units, where the product was sold and where it was made, and links to the official CPSC notice for the remedy and contact details.

US Toy Compliance Checklist: The main steps to sell a toy or other children's product for ages 12 and under in the United States, in plain language: confirming it's a children's product, finding the rules that apply (starting with ASTM F963), testing at a CPSC-accepted lab, issuing a Children's Product Certificate, adding tracking labels and eFiling certificate data at import, which has been required since July 8, 2026. Every step links to the official CPSC or Federal Register page. It's a summary, not legal advice.

For buyers and sellers

Request a Quote from Toy Suppliers: A free form for retailers, distributors, importers and other buyers. Describe the product, quantity, target price and ship-to country, and say whether you need U.S. compliance, private label or overseas factories. Every request is reviewed by hand. If a supplier listed in ToyDirectory fits, we may pass the request on so the supplier can contact you. Your contact details are never published.

Wholesale Toy Suppliers by Category: Pick a product category to browse its suppliers in ToyDirectory, see recent recalls in that product type and send a free request for quotes. Each category shows how many registered ToyDirectory stores asked for products in it, from ToyDirectory.com's own registration data as of Oct. 23, 2026. Arts & Crafts tops the list with 2,810 interested stores.

Find a Toy Sales Rep: Independent rep groups sell toy and gift lines to stores in their own territories. This directory is new, and we're building the list now. Rep groups can apply to be listed so manufacturers can find them. Manufacturers can tell us the line, categories and territories they need covered, and we'll introduce rep groups when there's a match. Every listing is checked by hand.

Toy Industry Press Releases: A home for news from toy companies listed in ToyDirectory.com, and it's now open for submissions. Toy companies can submit a press release. A standard listing is free once it passes review, and every release is reviewed by hand before it appears.

For brands, licensing and inventors

Licensing Who's Who: Who owns a brand and where to apply for a license. A property goes on the list only after we find the rights owner's own licensing page. It starts with Hello Kitty and the Sanrio characters, and Pokémon, and we add more as each rights owner's official licensing page is verified. If you want to license a brand, a short form lets you tell us what you make and where you sell.

Toy Inventors: Protect, Pitch and Sell Your Idea: Official resources for independent toy and game inventors, including the USPTO's patent and trademark basics, the LEGO Ideas submission platform, Chicago Toy and Game Week and the CPSC's small batch manufacturer relief. Inventors can also pitch a toy to TDmonthly through the form on the page. We read every pitch, and we never share an idea without permission.

For industry reference

Toy Industry Awards: Toy, game and juvenile product award programs from around the world, each linked to the organizer's own page. They include the Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards, the Astra Play Awards, the BTHA Toy Industry Awards, the Spielwarenmesse ToyAward and the NAPPA and Parents' Choice Awards. Entry deadlines appear only once an organizer has published them. The next TOTY ceremony is listed for Feb. 19, 2027, in New York.

Toy Industry Associations Worldwide: Trade associations and industry bodies for toys, games and juvenile products in North America, Europe and Asia, from Astra, the Baby Safety Alliance (formerly JPMA) and Licensing International to Toy Industries of Europe, the Japan Toy Association and the Hong Kong Toys Council. Each one links to its official website, and we check every link before it goes on the page.

Toy Industry Glossary: Short, plain-English definitions of sourcing, retail, sales, shipping, compliance, licensing, finance and marketing terms, from ASN and chargeback to CPC, DDP and drop-ship. Regulatory terms link to the official source.

Toy Industry Jobs and Careers: Open roles that toy companies post on ToyDirectory.com, plus direct links to the official careers pages of toy makers including Mattel, the LEGO Group, Jazwares, MGA Entertainment, Crayola, Radio Flyer, ZURU, JAKKS Pacific and Funko. For this month's openings, see Toy Industry Jobs, November 2026. Hiring? You can post a job on the jobs page, and every post is checked by hand before it goes live.

Toy & Game Industry Events Calendar: Trade fairs and licensing, juvenile, tabletop, collector and pop culture shows worldwide, with every date checked on the organizer's own site. You can filter by month, type, audience and region. Next up are the Chicago Toy & Game Fair (Nov. 7-8, Rosemont, Ill.), IAAPA Expo (Nov. 16-20, Orlando) and PAX Unplugged (Dec. 4-6, Philadelphia).
