Your Marketing Efforts with Do-it-Yourself Articles for E-newsletters
By Amy Adair

What will you write about? As a toy retailer, you may find it easy
to write an article about what toys sell the best in your store,
and what is appropriate for certain age groups. Make sure you slant
your article to fit the publications; like writing an article on
toy safety for a parenting ezine. When in doubt, email the e-newsletter’s
editor to see if your article fits their needs.
Don’t forget to plug your business! That’s the reason
you wrote the article in the first place, isn’t it? You can
name yourself and your site directly in the article if your previous
experience applies. For example, “As the owner of such-and-such.com,
I have noticed a steady rise in the number of grandparents looking
for quality gift ideas.” If your plug does not fit directly
into your article, you can always add it at the end. For example,
“Jenny Smith is the owner of such-and-such.com, Your Store
for Creative Toy and Hobby Needs.”
If you are more technologically advanced, you could also start your
own e-newsletter. That way, you can target current and prospective
customers, let them know about new products, and trade ads with
other e-newsletter distributors.
