TDmonthly Magazine Product Reviews for MANHATTAN TOY --AD--
Below are some of the products from MANHATTAN TOY TDmonthly has reviewed. Name: Puzzibits™ Flexible 3D Puzzle Art™ - Ocean Depths Company: MANHATTAN TOY Age: 6 and up Price: Not Specified Category: Puzzles & Skill
What It Is The 150 flexible, interlocking pieces included in this set can be used to create three 3D designs — a turtle, a seahorse and an octopus.
What We Thought TDmonthly staff enjoyed assembling the Puzzibits pieces to quickly create a turtle in its shell. The flexible plastic pieces easily fit together and it didn’t take us long to figure out how they should be connected. My 11-year-old stepdaughter also thought the kit was great and loved the feel of the flexible pieces.
Why They’ll Want It Retailers raved about the original kit when it first came out. One reported that a grandmother returned to buy 12 more versions of the kit for each of her grandchildren, since nobody wanted to disassemble their creations once they were made. Kids will love being able to assemble the creatures in this kit using just the illustrated instructions. Or, of course, they could improvise and create their own. Once hooked, they’ll probably be back for more, so Puzzibits could generate some nice repeat sales. – Alison Marek 6/30/08

What Is It? This velour plush rag doll wears tights of a silver, sparkling fabric and gold satin shoes that complement the gold touches in her pageant-winner look. She’s not easily poseable, but has whimsical hair and a purse that dangles with the ladylike swing of her legs. Her dress is removable, but the other clothing and accessories, which are not, might make another outfit a difficult fit. Her earrings are sewn in so she doesn’t have to worry about losing them. She has a star’s smile.
What We Thought I don’t consider myself a “doll person” but the more I looked at her, the more I liked her. And my mother — also not a “doll person” — commented, “She is really CUTE!” This is a great doll for a collection or to serve as a girl’s daily companion. Groovy Girls have accessories, too, which add to the fun. How about a stylish car or pet horse for starters?
Why They’ll Want It Remember Holly Hobby? Well, Sylvie’s the new “it” girl in the ragdoll world, and every girl identifies with glam. They can bring her into their imaginary worlds and create stories for any number of daily experiences. Sylvie Starr would make a great gift. — Dena Welter, 10/2/07

What Is It? A bendy, flexy mini Groovy Girl not more than 4” high, Gwen is perfect for dollhouses or hanging out in pockets. She’s fully poseable and wears a cool teeshirt, skirt and leggings set – all nonremovable and therefore non-loseable. She has a mischievous smile and a button nose.
What We Thought These are very collectible dolls for kids of all ages. They’re great for decorating a bookshelf or a desk. They’re playable, too. Kids can definitely imagine them hanging out with dollhouse critters of all species and sizes. They have their own playspaces, too, so girls can create a whole world for these tiny playmates.
Why They’ll Want It They’re cute, collectible and small. Since there are no removable parts, little girls won’t get frustrated by losing a shoe or a favorite skirt. Gwen looks as much like a real little girl as a little rag-doll-inspired vinyl toy can, and kids can easily identify her and use her to act out all their daily dilemmas and dramas, plus take her into their imaginary worlds. Groovy Girl Mini Gwen and her friends, Reese, Oki, O´Ryan, Vanessa and Yvette, are great gifts for little girls to get or give themselves.

Learn more about Groovy Girl Mini GwenBack to top Name: Take & Make Pizza Food Fun Company: MANHATTAN TOY Age: 3 and up Price: $20.00 Category: Educational
What Is It? A cloth pizza box, decorated in the authentic pizzeria colors of red, white and green is secured by Velcro fasteners. Pull them open, lift the top of the see-through box and - Presto! - baby´s first pizza. But it´s not just any pizza, it´s four slices of brightly colored triangles with "crust" made of clingy fabric that´s just perfect for sticking to the cotton and Velcro "sauces" that kids can rearrange at will. Topping it all off are a variety of toppings that are numbered so kids can learn to count while learning to order the perfect pie. Inside the box there´s also a grill with a glossy card printed with flames that can be slid back and forth to turn the grill "on" or "off."
What We Thought The box and the slices are well-proportioned for little hands. The clear plastic window in the top of the box is not only authentic, but also gets kids hungering for what´s inside. But to get inside, they´ll have to pull the flaps and then lift the top, which means they´ll develop some dexterity while satisfying their curiosity. The toy encourages creativity, too, since kids can mix and match sauces and toppings to create a mouthwatering treat for Mom or Rocking Horse.
Why They´ll Want It Kids will feel grown up making, baking and delivering their very own pizzas. They can serve the slices plain, with sauce alone, toppings alone, or all three combined deliciously together. Kids will feel smarter, too, when they start recognizing the numbers that go along with the toppings. They´ll undoubtedly find ingenious ways of combining all the elements in this toy to make a pizza slice unlike any other. Pizzerias of the world, take note: Your competition is in training.
