What We Thought
The little board book was easily understandable by my 11-year-old stepdaughter who’s just learning English, and she thought the magnetic limbs, mouth, eyes are belly button were a great touch. She also found the baby’s face and cuddliness absolutely adorable.
Why They’ll Want It
Very young children will be able to relate to this soft, adorable baby and will easily be able to follow the instructions in the book. What We Thought
TDmonthly staff enjoyed assembling the Puzzibits pieces to quickly create a turtle in its shell. The flexible plastic pieces easily fit together and it didn’t take us long to figure out how they should be connected. My 11-year-old stepdaughter also thought the kit was great and loved the feel of the flexible pieces.
Why They’ll Want It
Retailers raved about the original kit when it first came out. One reported that a grandmother returned to buy 12 more versions of the kit for each of her grandchildren, since nobody wanted to disassemble their creations once they were made. Kids will love being able to assemble the creatures in this kit using just the illustrated instructions. Or, of course, they could improvise and create their own. Once hooked, they’ll probably be back for more, so Puzzibits could generate some nice repeat sales. – Alison Marek 6/30/08

What We Thought
The stomp rocket support took just a few minutes to assemble. My 11-year-old stepdaughter was thrilled to see how far her first rocket went. She and her Dad (and the dog) devised a few games of competition and fetch that kept them occupied for some time.
Why They’ll Want It
Kids love the idea of stomping on something and causing a rocket to soar higher in the air than they could ever possibly throw it. By changing the angle of the launcher, they can aim for height or length in the rocket’s trajectory. What We Thought
This is just the type of doll that grandmas love to buy for their grandchildren. They have an old-fashioned appeal with a modern design. The fact that they’re handmade lends them the aura of a keepsake, even though grandma didn’t do the knitting herself. My 11-year-old stepdaughter thought the doll was cute, but was perturbed that it didn’t have any hair.
Why They’ll Want It

What We Thought
My 11-year-old stepdaughter and I played with this set for hours. She created everything from family portraits to rain clouds with the sun peeking through. We had so much fun recreating creatures and nature that we never even got around to playing the dice game. One potential problem with the set is that it smells so much like cereal that it attracted the attention of our popcorn-loving dog and cat. Finished pieces were therefore put up on a shelf and will soon go behind a shadowbox to protect them!
Why They’ll Want It
This eco-friendly, biodegradable kit will appeal to parents who are looking for safe and natural toys for their kids. Children will love the unique play pattern, which allows them to create free-standing pieces with a minimum of manual dexterity. The plastic carrying case serves as a goodie bag that the children can tote around with them throughout the wedding. These kits are designed to keep the children busy with fun-filled activities but, more important, it makes the children feel more like they are a part of the wedding.
