Jadas
Dub City line of collectible cars have begun a die cast
car-craze phenomenon in the toy industry. Introduced at the Hong Kong
Toy Fair in January of 2002, Dub City cars are making fashion statements
with 1:24 and 1:64 scale models of street cars featuring oversized chrome
rims, all-metal die cast chassis and smooth-as-silk paint jobs.
For those new to the dub lingo, dubbing your car means to accessorize
it with oversized rims and wheels. Inspired by Dub Magazine, a glamour
magazine for car fanatics, Jada (ToyShow) designers nailed details like specialized
tints, and visible sound systems and engines to give die cast fans precise
duplicates of the hottest dubbed cars.
The overwhelming success of Dub City die cast vehicles in various Chevy
models sized 1:24 and 1:64 are making room on the shelves for a line of
Cadillac Escalades, and an enhanced 1:18 size. Jadas knack for detail
is evident in their other car lines too. Road Rats, with raging flame
decals on black matte finishes to Street Lows dice hanging from
rear view mirrors.
With their real, life-sized dubs, celebrities like Shaquille ONeal,
Fred Durst, and Coolio are creating the freshest trend in the mainstream
automobile culture. Its only obvious that kids, and not just boys,
want to follow. (Visit PlayZak.com for more info.) (C) TDmonthly Magazine 2003 Visit: www.tdmonthly.com
