Well aware of the lack of geographic knowledge among our fellow Americans,
we have decided to make an effort to correct the problem. To do so, we have
made it our mission to spread geographic awareness and knowledge throughout
this great land.
Braincog’s first game, Portrayal, was released in 2005. During each round of Portrayal, one player (the “Art Director”) describes a bizarre image to the other players (the “Artists”) while they attempt to draw the image based solely on the Art Director’s description. After time is up, the Artists exchange drawings and proceed to judge the works of art based on a set of ten previously unknown criteria specific to each image. For example, one criterion might read, “There are three buttons visible on the rabbit’s raincoat.” Artists receive points for each of the criteria their drawing satisfies. Art Director’s receive points when any of the Artist’s drawings meet a criterion.
We later partnered with Asmodee to publish and distribute the game in multiple countries under the names Duplik, Identik, and Meisterwerke. In 2010, the game was nominated for the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year) and won d’Or Jeu de l’Année (Game of the Year) in France. The game is still sold in various markets across Europe and Asia.

We believe having fun is great way to learn. That belief is built into every ThinkFun game. In 1985, ThinkFun was founded with a dream. Husband and wife team Bill Ritchie and Andrea Barthello wanted to change the world through play and make learning fun.
Bill was a born puzzler. Andrea was no stranger to a challenge. However, the 80’s were a tough time for toy companies. Retailers were moving away from games and the Rubik’s Cube, which had been a huge fad, had just crashed hard, and toy store owners were sick of brainteasers.
In the early years, Bill and Andrea’s basement served as an assembly line, home office and distribution center. Right out of their basement the first product, the Hexadecimal Puzzle, was born!

Tucker-Jones House is the only company that makes the Tavern Puzzle® Collection. Tavern Puzzles® are reproductions of a type of puzzle traditionally forged by blacksmiths to amuse their friends at country taverns and inns. Keeping with tradition, a museum-trained blacksmith from Long Island has reproduced some of these antique designs as well as his own original designs. All the puzzles are handcrafted and individually assembled. Each puzzle is mechanical in nature; removal of the object piece does not rely on force or trickery.
