Micah's concert music is written primarily for orchestra - an ensemble which he knows and loves. Micah has also written music for wind ensemble, piano, solo voice, chorus, swing orchestra and klezmer ensemble. Micah believes that music can and should express everything human. Micah has written music which ranges from light and delightful music for children to music which ponders eternity.

As a commercial writer he has created music for many, varied projects including films, toys , "beds" for commercials and radio plays. He recently finished music for the play "Mother Goose And Her Fabulous Friends", to be premiered in the National Theatre, Washington, D.C. He recently wrote music for the animations "Clever Monkey Rides Again" and "Rooster's Night Out".

Micah is currently working on of three commissioned works for band. He is scheduled to score a documentary film entitled "Exiles and Homecomings" and incidental music to a multimedia production entitled "Cobblestones and Spauldeens."

Prior to his work as a composer Micah was most recently a professional conductor and hornist. Mr. Levy was educated at the New England Conservatory and California State University, Fullerton.

"The Probably Untrue Story of Mary (Who) Had A Little Lamb" is a story with music. The story begins with the the famous poem "Mary's Lamb". The music is a set of variations on "Mary Had A Little Lamb". Immediately the story & music veer way off course. The story is fun & funny! Additionally, the listener is introduced to an important Vivaldi work. "Mary" recently received three performances by the San Diego Symphony.

"The Probably Untrue Story of Mary (who) Had A Little Lamb" is written for full orchestra. "Spring" is written for violin solo, string orchestra and harp. Each of the rest is scored for an ensemble appropriate to its genre. For example, "Mary and Petunia On The Trail" is scored for guitar, two harmonicas, two fiddles and banjo.

Includes a teacher's guide in the form of a printable PDF based on National Standard Performance Goals in Music for Kindergarten through Grade 12, with additional suggestions for Grades 13 through 16, written by Barbara F. King in cooperation with the composer.
