This shape-memory programmable interactive toy is based on new technology that allows toy figures to change from 3-D to 2-D shapes, and vice-versa, when warmed. They can be posed into natural 3-D positions, and hold their shape until exposed to warm water or sidewalk sunlight on an 85-degree day. The figures can be ironed or glued onto paper, plastic or clothing, allowing novel pop-up craft activities. Clear traceable sheets can be cut with scissors and die cut using SizzixR and AccucutR machines. And, new for 2007, traceable sheets with glue (ages 8 and up) allow for instant creation of 3-D poseable appliqués with any fabric design. Beetle and people designs are also available. “These are the only shape-memory toy figures on the market,” Corey Selman of Bendable Plastic told TDmonthly. This product received a 2006 Smart Toy Award from Dr. Toy. Launch date: January 2006.
