January 2004

Here are the Top Ten Toys for February 2004, arranged in no particular order:

1) The PlayStation 2 ($179.99) is equipped with a 128-bit Emotion Engine processor that enables lightning-fast gameplay and impressive graphics power. The console builds on its home entertainment value by doubling as a DVD player and accommodating most of the original PlayStation´s vast library of games. PS2 is known for its excellent selection of titles for the adult gamer.

2) The Microsoft Xbox Console ($179.99) includes the popular "S" style Microsoft controller, as well as games Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Tetris Worlds Online, a two-month trial subscription to the Xbox Live service and all necessary cables to connect your Xbox to your TV. A DVD kit (sold separately) is required to access DVD playback ability.

3) For those who like it rough, NFL Street ($49.99) by Electronic Arts features no-holds-barred, 7-on-7 arcade gameplay that challenges players of all ages to show their skills on both offense and defense.

4) The Transformers G1 Grapple Figure ($29.99) by Hasbro is a construction truck with crane that transforms into an Autobot, a robot approximately 6” tall when put together. This tough, heavy-duty plastic toy will survive even the harshest fall. The truck has small parts, therefore not suitable for children under 3.

5) The Gameboy Advance SP ($99.99) is the highly popular handheld gaming system from Nintendo, featuring built-in lighting, a clamshell design and rechargeable lithium-ion battery for 10-18 hours of continuous play (included). It plays all Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games.

6) The Sony PSOne Console ($99.99) is a miniaturized version of the original PlayStation. The lightweight console packs gaming into a portable, compact unit. The 32-bit processor delivers all the power, visual clarity, and extraordinary gameplay of the original. With available accessories like the LCD Screen and Car Adaptor, the PSOne Console lets you take PlayStation gaming anywhere. Includes a Dualshock analog controller, AV Cable (integrated audio/video), and an AC adaptor.

7) In its 14th season, Madden NFL Football ($49.99) remains the undisputed leader in authentic NFL football simulation. This year, players can make adjustments after the snap and create championship caliber plays with revolutionary Playmaker Control.

8) In Sonic Heroes ($49.99) by Sega of America, Inc., players maneuver a team of three Sonic characters through massive levels to overcome the ultimate evil. Dr. Eggman is on the loose once again, but this time he´ll have to take on three powerful characters at once. Each team boasts multiple specialized stages with unique missions and CG movies driving each team story forward.

9) The Illustory Book Kit ($19.99) by Creations By You is a multi-award winning kit that lets children ages 5 and up write and illustrate their very own professionally typeset, hardbound book. The kit includes markers and special pages for creating an original story that is mailed to the company in the postpaid envelope provided. Each book features up to 12 pages with 20 words typeset, and includes the author´s name, book title and illustration, laminated onto a choice of six cover colors.

10) Mario and his closest friends are trying to restore peace to Dream World by racing around a collection of all new game boards and tons of surprises in Nintendo’s Mario Party 5. It sports new game boards, more than 60 new mini games, new playable characters, an expanded one-player mode, and, of course, the multi-player madness that made it famous in the first place.
