Kids can be the playwright, design the sets, collect the props, make the costumes, and put on a show in their very own theatre. With more than 50 reusable stickers to choose from, they can perform “The Little Mermaid” and “Beauty and the Beast” not to mention all the shows they’ll make up themselves. The Fairytale Theatre Playscene, with illustrations by Kerri Smith, is portable too – just fold-up the playing board, grab the handle and go. All the stickers are tucked neatly inside, just waiting for the next big performance. And because the Playscene was created in association with Literally Alive Children’s Theatre, kids can go to their Web site to download all kinds of fun extras, such as scripts, show posters, backstage forms and theatre games. The producers will even answer kids’ questions about theater. The Fairytale Theatre Playscene won the Parents Choice Approved Award and The Oppenheim Gold Award for 2006.
