This series focuses on a famous alchemist, Edward Elric, and his brother, Alphonse, both of whom have the unique ability to change the nature of objects. When their mother dies in an accident, the two attempt to bring her back to life. In the process, Edward loses his legs and Alphonse loses his body. The story traces their quest for the Philosopher’s Stone, the answer to their troubles.
