More than simply a bedtime album for children, Dreamland: World Lullabies and Soothing Songs, features beautiful, universally appealing songs that will create a calm ambiance for people of all ages. Dreamland is the fifth recording in the acclaimed World Playground series of music and multicultural activity kits from Putumayo Kids.

After receiving hundreds of cards and letters from parents and teachers telling us how much children love dancing, singing, and listening to Putumayo CDs, we are pleased to release our first kid's CD. World Playground: A Musical Adventure for Kids is a collection of great songs from around the world that the family can enjoy together. This CD takes children and parents on a musical journey to faraway places where they can be introduced to other people and places around the world. A trip to the World Playground makes exploring other cultures a fun adventure for music fans of all ages.

When his friend Erik was ill with cancer, 6-year-old Skyler Pia wanted to cheer him up. So he did what most kids his age only dream about: he went into his dad's studio and, off the top of his head, hosted a radio show. Skyler's charming world music show features international songs from five Putumayo Kids CDs and information about the artists and cultures. Skyler's parents were so proud of his work that they shared his recording with everyone they knew, including Bonnie Raitt - a longtime fan of Putumayo World Music. She suggested that they send the show to Putumayo founder Dan Storper, who loved it so much he decided to release it as a specially-priced CD. The result is One World, One Kid, a benefit CD with all of Putumayo's proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Skyler picked the Make-A-Wish Foundation because they had helped his friend Erik and he wanted to make sure others benefited as well. The CD will be available in late January.

Reggae Playground presents renowned artists from reggae’s birthplace of Jamaica. Judy Mowatt, a former backing vocalist for Bob Marley and a respected solo artist, invites listeners to get moving with her rousing “Let’s Dance.” Children hear about the importance of respecting each others’ differences and the need to work together in Rita Marley’s classic anthem, “Harambe.” The Jamaican reggae arrangements of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by the legendary Toots & the Maytals and the Burning Souls’ rendition of “Here Comes the Sun” demonstrate the adaptability of this infectious beat to almost any tune.

The Caribbean, ready for release in January 2006, delves into the roots of the music, its present and its future.

The latest stop in Putumayo’s “World Playground” tour, this disc includes 12 upbeat French language songs. Kids can follow along with the lyrics, which are printed in both French and English, for a unique lingual experience.

This customized travel journal is designed for the Global Kids program that Putumayo has launched with Gymboree. Kids can travel to other cultures without straying far from home. Families can participate in these classes together, then use the passport-style travel journal to record the experience with photographs and written entries.

This collection (release date May 2005) of hip and happy danceable tunes from around the world will have the whole family swing-dancing in no time. Full-color multi-page liner notes, in English, Spanish and French, include cultural information about each artist and country, and background about the swing music genre. Putumayo’s collection of music and multicultural activity kits has won dozens of top national awards.

Putumayo Kids invites children and families on a fun musical cruise to the Caribbean with "Caribbean Playground." Filled with upbeat songs, informative liner notes and colorful artwork, this album is a festive carnival. "Caribbean Playground" includes full-color liner notes in English, Spanish and French with song descriptions and cultural information. Launch date: 2004. (This album was re-released in early 2010, in response to the major earthquake in Haiti, with 100-percent of proceeds donated to the Red Cross.)
