This educational toy company started the trend into language toys six years ago with its line of cuddly bilingual dolls, currently available in 10 languages. The dedication to diversity and education in its dolls has led Language Littles to develop further high quality educational toys for children, not just dolls. The huge success of the Language Littles and the more recent Teach-A-Tots, those adorable talking activity dolls from Toy Fair 2005, has allowed the addition of new toys and games for young children.
What exactly is a Language Littles doll? The soft-bodies, sixteen-inch plush dolls represent children from France, Italy, China, Japan, Israel, Germany, Russia, Greece, and Spanish-speaking countries. Future plans include expansion to virtually every language and country. These dolls are not just pretty faces. What makes them unique is their ability to introduce foreign language to children from preschool though grade school. Simply press one of the dolls' hands and she will recite a series of "kid friendly" phrases. Press the doll's other and she will count, recite colors, and/or days of the week. Press a heart on the doll's knee and she will respond by saying "I love you." Each doll offers a direct translation from English to her designated language. Imagine how rewarding it will be for youngsters to enjoy instant gratification of rudimentary phrases in a new language!
