XOS®, a leading global provider of advanced materials analysis systems and
components since their commercial introduction in the mid-1990s, introduces High
Definition Spectroscopy (HDS) for rapid detection of lead in toys & children's
products.
HD 1000 Analyzer for Toxic Elements in Toys
The new HD 1000 Toy Analyzer is a cost-effective way to quantify lead well
below 90 ppm in painted surfaces, ensuring products meet new global regulations.
The HD 1000 features the ability to distinguish paint layers from base material,
enables analysis of small features, and offers low limits of detection for 10
toxic elements non-destructively. The analyzers are very easy to operate and
are designed for use in factories, independent test labs, retail outlets, and
inventory warehouses.
APPLICATION AREAS:
- Small spot, multi-element detection for toys and other consumer products
- Designed for toxins detection for in-factory labs, 3rd party test labs, retail
and regulatory environments
- Ideal for testing of finished goods inventory
FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
- Coating composition through use of breakthrough x-ray optics technology
- Low levels of detection for lead- 1 ppm for homogeneous substrates - 8 ppm
for paint layers
- Measure very small features with spot size of 1.0 mm in diameter
- Multi-element capacity with emphasis on the 10 toxins of greatest interest
to toy manufacturers including Cr, As, Br, Cd, Sb, Ba, Se, Hg, Cl, & Pb
- Immediate results streamline production and shipping decisions
- Secure data including clear time-stamped photo of toy and feature being measured
- Ease of Use—designed for use by factory operators
- Large sample chamber easily accepts large and irregular shaped toys
- No sample preparation – Avoiding paint removal or digestion steps that
take valuable time and destroy products being tested
- Measure anything from liquid paints and powdered pigments to finished toys
