Activision Files Lawsuit Against Worlds Inc. Activision Publishing, creator of Skylanders and World of War Craft, has announced that they have filed a patent infringement lawsuit against competitor Worlds Inc.
Worlds Inc. filed its own infringement lawsuit against Activision in 2012 arguing that the games World of Warcraft and Call of Duty infringed on Worlds Inc.'s patents. That suit is currently pending.
Now, Activision is hitting back with a lawsuit claiming that it is Worlds Inc., in fact, who is infringing on a patent Activision holds for two specific 3-D navigation properties in their games. Activision is allegedly that they are used in Worlds Inc.'s software for the game "Worlds Player."
The suit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, according to a press release.
