Fun Publishing Company was formed in 1975 by a former teacher, Nancy Poffenberger, of Cincinnati, Ohio. She began writing teach yourself music books due to her son's desire to want to play the piano but not take music lessons ,due to his involvement in sports. She has written 9 teach yourself keyboard, recorder and xylophone books. Nancy was asked to write for Hansen House of New York as well as numerous toy companies that wanted booklets for their instruments. Nancy has recently branched out into writing children's educational history books dealing with September 11th as well as Iraq. Her books have been featured on T.V. ,in newspapers,won some national awards and are featured when she does speaking to various groups.

Fun Publishing's books are teach yourself piano(portable keyboard ) which begin with ABC's and go on to the written note, recorder books(go from letter to note and xylophone books which are all done in ABC's. These books are used for ages 3 to adults as well as for gifted and special children. One must be able to recognize their ABC's in order to use the books. Nancy Poffenberger's Iraq,2003 and September 11th,2001 are non- biased books for children. (September 11th for ages 5-12 and Iraq for ages 8-young adult. They have both received national awards.
