In 1938 the Habermaass family began production of their first toys in the small town of Bad Rodach, Germany. Nestled in the hills of Bavaria the company still designs and produces its wooden products in the original factory location. Today the HABA USA offices are located in the beautiful Finger Lakes region in Skaneateles, New York.

HABA uses natural woods native to their area; in fact Germany is reforesting more trees than are being harvested. A non-toxic water based stain is applied. Being “green” is not something new to the HABA family of companies. All of our products are designed, produced and tested to meet the CPSIA and the EN71 guidelines.

The infant and toddler items produced and designed by our European designers at HABA encompass both fabric, plush and wooden materials. Each product is lovingly designed to provide an educational, inviting end result with multi play values.

The HABA brand has earned a valuable reputation in the specialty marketplace. HABA is not sold into the mass market channels. We prefer to continue to innovate and design quality products ranging from rattles to games to play tents and make them only available to the specialty marketplace. We offer a broad assortment suitable for specialty gift shops (grandparents corners), boutiques, educational, Montessori, toy stores and juvenile stores.

Many of the HABA products have been recognized with German and American awards including Parents’ Choice, National Parenting Center, Creative Child, and Parents’ Guide. HABA received Best Toys of the Year recognition from the TODAY Show Toy Test and has been featured in national magazines such as Child, American Baby, Baby Talk, Fit Pregnancy, Parenting, Parents and Working Mother.
