Established in January 7, 1953 as a limited liability company and Incorporated
on November 1, 1996, Koto, Inc. set foot in the States and became incorporated
in California on March 6, 2003.
Koto, Inc. offers:
- Development, manufacturing and sales of model kits (resin and soft vinyl
kits) and related materials.
- Development, manufacturing and sales of buildups (action figures, soft vinyl
statues and fully assembled and painted cold-cast resin statues).
- Retail sales of all products related to modeling.
- Planning and management of consumer shows.
- Designing of packaging and other materials.
- Overseas distribution of Kotobukiya products starting with the Art Figure
Collection, followed by the Final Fantasy VII resin buildups, the Final Fantasy
VIII action figures, soft vinyl statues, and cold-cast resin buildups. North
American is undertaken by Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc.

Koto, Inc's product Include:
- Model Kits: unpainted and unassembled polyurethane resin kits.
- Soft Vinyl Kits: unpainted and unassembled soft vinyl kits.
- Active Styling Figures: developed by Kotobukiya, these figures
have fully articulating joints with soft vinyl heads, plastic
bodies and cotton costumes. A high quality action figure line.
- Action Figures: included under the ARTFX brand name, these
are assembled and painted PVC and ABS resin figures, molded using
the injection method with fully articulating joints.
- Soft Vinyl Statues: included under the ARTFX brand name, these
are fully assembled and painted hollow, soft vinyl statues for
ornamental purposes. Usually 1/6 in scale with extraordinary detail.
